ATLANTA, Jan. 28, 2025 ~ Atlanta, GA - In 2024, Pronghorn, a hybrid accelerator and industry-wide change agent in the spirits industry, made significant strides towards achieving its 10-year goal of placing 1,800 Black candidates in industry roles, investing in 57 Black-owned spirits brands, and creating $2.4 billion in economic value by 2032. As the company continues to accelerate its pursuit of economic and industry impact, they have announced the appointment of Ron Cole as their new President.

With over 20 years of experience in building high-performing teams and brands, Cole brings a wealth of expertise in consumer goods to his new role at Pronghorn. He has previously held leadership positions at Nestlé Purina, Kerry Foods, and Reckitt where he drove business impact through P&L management, market expansion, and developing beloved brands for consumers.

According to Dia Simms, Pronghorn Board Member and Co-Founder, "Pronghorn is in growth mode. Ron is coming onboard at the perfect time to accelerate that growth and ensure our impact is long lasting. Equity is driven by economics. Under Ron's leadership, Pronghorn will continue to drive the spirit of principled capitalism forward."

Founded in 2020 by Co-Founders Dia Simms, Erin J. Hall, and Dan Sanborn and launched in 2022, Pronghorn was created with the mission to diversify any industry starting with the spirits industry and the Black community. It serves as a hybrid accelerator and industry-wide change agent by providing new opportunities for Black founders, entrepreneurs, and executives.

Based at Pronghorn's headquarters in Atlanta, Cole will play a crucial role in ushering the next phase of growth and impact for the company. "I believe diversity is a growth engine for organizations. It allows you to connect deeper with consumers and enables innovative thinking," said Cole about his new role at Pronghorn. "Joining Pronghorn is especially exciting for me because it provides the opportunity to invest and close the knowledge, access to equity, and ownership gap within an underrepresented community in the spirits industry."

As Cole takes on his new position as President of Pronghorn, he inherits a momentum that has been building since the company's inception. This momentum is evident in their 2024 Impact Report, which showcases a year of remarkable growth and impact.

Some key highlights from the report include 28 new brand investments with more on the horizon, expanded career development efforts through their Talent and Bridge Building program resulting in 11 student intern placements, over 25 completions of their mid-career Spirits Prep program, and over 400 mentorship hours completed. These efforts have led to a 10% increase in Black American representation at the supplier tier since 2021.
