Mayor Andre Dickens Appoints New Procurement Chief
ATLANTA—Mayor Andre Dickens has appointed Jaideep Majumdar as the City's Chief Procurement Officer. The Department of Procurement is responsible for acquiring all commodities and services for all City departments, tasked with promoting fair and open competition, including opportunities for women and minority vendors, procure high-quality products and services in a timely manner to meet the needs of Atlanta while maintaining public trust through ethical practices and standards.
"Jaideep brings a next-level depth of experience to one of the most important functions of government—ensuring City contracting is the ethical, fair and inclusive process our residents and business community deserve," said Mayor Dickens. "With a well-documented strategic vision and global perspective, Jaideep is more than ready to lead our Procurement Department through the exciting work ahead of us as a city."
Majumdar is a seasoned corporate procurement leader with 25 years of global experience in procurement and supply base strategy. He has led and managed medium and large global procurement organizations, encompassing a comprehensive range of direct and indirect commodities & services.

"I am thrilled to be part of Mayor Dicken's administration supporting his vision of "Moving Atlanta Forward," said Jaideep Majumdar. "I look forward to serving the City of Atlanta, its residents and the business community through some exciting changes."
His expertise in enhancing operational and financial performance through effective procurement will create a long-term sustainable impact for the City. Additionally, Mujamdar has proven knowledge of C11 Procurement Restructuring and M&A, having previously led organizations through that process.
A Six Sigma Black Belt in Sourcing, Mujamdar has worked for a wide range of companies including General Electric, Delta Air Lines, Capgemini, and Larsen & Toubro Ltd.
He will fill the role currently held by Martin Clarke, who will continue serving the City in the Department of Law. Martin Clarke previously served as the Director of the Office of Contract Compliance (OCC). Prior to his appointment to lead OCC, Clarke served as Special Counsel for the Aviation Division.
"Thank you to Martin Clarke for his continued service to Atlanta," continued Mayor Dickens. "Martin has a long and distinguished record of leading ethical procurement and ensuring fair contracting for women and minority contractors and vendors."
