LOS ANGELES - GeorgiaChron -- Beyond Remission: Words of Advice for Thriving was created by Gracelyn Bateman and Melody Lomboy-Lowe. This is a photography book of cancer survivors that includes advice and wisdom from their cancer journey. The purpose of this book is to inspire hope in those that have just received a cancer diagnosis. Gracelyn Bateman and Melody Lomboy-Lowe photographed and interviewed over one hundred cancer survivors from all walks of life to create this book. Their photos capture the success of survivors with different types of cancers. The visualization of diverse cancers survivors humanizes cancer and helps cancer fighters visualize their own remission. The collection of photographs and quotes chosen from each cancer survivor are well thought out and intriguing. This book is made by survivors and is meant for cancer fighters, though anyone touched by cancer will find a community in this book including families, doctors, caregivers, and support teams. So many have been touched by cancer, this book is a perfect gift for someone going through treatment. Melody and Gracelyn founded Luna Peak Foundation, a non-profit that will donate books to newly diagnosed patients, their families, oncology offices and hospitals.
