ATLANTA - GeorgiaChron -- Driven by Safety, a minority and veteran-owned business leading the charge in the field of impaired driving prevention, today announced a new round of funding. This significant investment will accelerate the development and expansion of their groundbreaking technologies, CheckBAC and SOBRdrive.
"With this new round of funding, we are in a stronger position than ever to advance our products and to drive our mission forward," said Rodney Stearns, Driven by Safety's Founder and President. "We are deeply committed to reducing the number of preventable deaths and injuries caused by drunk and impaired driving."
The proceeds from this funding round will be used to enhance the capabilities of SOBRdrive, an advanced system designed to allow the user or parent to preset a BAC limit, and prevent the vehicle from starting, and CheckBAC, a platform designed to be the centerpiece for effective and enforceable prevention programs aimed at employee drunk driving or court ordered alcohol monitoring. Both technologies have shown immense promise in preventing impaired driving and promoting safer roads.

This new investment aligns with the federal commitment to implementing anti-drunk driving technology in vehicles, as outlined in H.R. 3684, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The Act mandates the development and implementation of advanced impaired driving technology in new motor vehicles, reinforcing Driven by Safety's mission and the importance of its products.
"Our goal is to provide an effective solution that not only meets but exceeds the requirements of H.R. 3684," Stearns added. "We aim to make drunk and impaired driving a thing of the past."
Driven by Safety has chosen to partner with Wefunder [https://wefunder.com/driven.by.safety.inc], a premier platform that bridges the gap between innovative startups and individual investors on a crowdfunding campaign. "Our decision to raise money via crowdfunding is rooted in our commitment to community and inclusivity." said Alan Eargle, CEO of Driven by Safety, "This process enables us to welcome a broad array of investors who believe in our mission and vision, not just traditional venture capital or private equity."
