The East Point Peachtree International Film Festival (EPIFF) Launches with a Bold Vision: East Point, Georgia, to Become the Premier Film and TV Hub in the Southeast
EAST POINT, Ga. - GeorgiaChron -- The East Point Peachtree International Film Festival (EPIFF), formerly known as the Peachtree Village International Film Festival (PVIFF), announces its inaugural event in East Point, GA, from November 7–10, 2023. Originally launched as the Sweet Auburn International Film Festival in 2005, this celebrated event has grown into a major global platform, attracting over 3,500 attendees annually. Through a new partnership with the East Point Convention & Visitors Bureau, PVIFF has transformed into EPIFF, building on its nearly two-decade legacy to offer opportunities and programming for filmmakers, artists, and industry professionals.
EPIFF is honored to host a stellar lineup of distinguished guests this year. Award-winning actress Cassi Davis will receive the festival's 2024 Award, recognizing her significant contributions to film and theater. Also joining as honored guests are producer and industry visionary Nia Hill, KJ Smith, Tyler Perry's Sistas star, former East Point Mayor Patsy Jo Hilliard, and acclaimed singer/songwriter Lydia Caesar. Each remarkable individual brings a wealth of talent and influence, reflecting EPIFF's mission to celebrate established and emerging voices in entertainment.

"We were looking for something different, and it was like bing, bing, bing—the idea clicked because there was no festival in East Point. East Point is where the world meets, right next to the airport. It made a lot of sense." - Founder Len Gibson
Gibson spent years connecting with municipalities across Georgia, ultimately working with Fulton Films and the Georgia Film Office, where he learned of East Point's vibrant arts community and vision for a film festival led by Chantel. This shared vision became a reality through a mutual friend, establishing the foundation for the East Point International Film Fest.
EPIFF promises an exciting lineup of events across its four-day run. The festival starts with a press conference and brunch on November 7, setting the stage for three full days of panels, workshops, and networking events. Audiences will enjoy 60 film screenings, participate in interactive discussions with filmmakers, and attend an awards show and pitch contest. The festival concludes with a cocktail reception on November 10, celebrating the creativity and passion of storytellers worldwide.
