"We are excited to continue our long-term partnership with Eclipse Senior Living," states Second Wind Dreams CEO, Gwenyth Johnson, "since 2012 the Elmcroft and Embark communities have focused on the happiness and dignity of their residents through the fulfillment of dreams. As a result, the experience of aging and the overall quality of life are enhanced."

According to Elmcroft representatives, Second Wind Dreams® was first brought to their attention in 2009 in the Metro Atlanta region, home to Second Wind Dreams® headquarters. After seeing the impact of the non-profit's Dreams Program on residents, families, staff and surrounding communities, the company formed a regional initiative. Due to its widespread success, Elmcroft expanded the program to all of their communities throughout the nation.

Second Wind Dreams® partners with assisted living, skilled nursing centers, home health, hospice, as well as universities and volunteer groups, to fulfill dreams for elders. Dreams range from the simple to the sublime and typically fall into one of four categories.  Adventure dreams, the most popular category, give elders a chance to experience something for the first time. Heart and Soul dreams may be the gift of a simple item that improves an elder's quality of life. Family and Love requests reconnect long lost loved ones or even celebrate a special wedding anniversary.  Lastly, Reliving Past Experiences, the most common dream for those living with dementia, recreate special moments in elders' lives.
