Ambassador Andrew Young Will Serve as Honorary Chair at Event
ATLANTA - GeorgiaChron -- ATLANTA, GEORGIA – Georgia City Solutions (GCS), the Georgia Municipal Association's non-profit, will hold the second annual Community Impact Awards event on October 10th at Savanna Hall at Zoo Atlanta. The event will showcase GCS' impactful and innovative work to help Georgia cities thrive and provide all residents with opportunities to reach their full potential. Get ready to be inspired by the stories of innovation, collaboration, and impact as we gather to honor the legacy of public service of former Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin and celebrate the cities of Decatur, Leesburg, Ringgold, and Tifton for the impactful work they are leading to make their communities better.
"Georgia City Solutions was created to help cities address the major challenges which may be holding cities back and preventing them and their residents from reaching their full potential," said Kirby Thompson, GCS board chair. "Many of these challenges are a result of intergenerational poverty. We know that municipal leaders cannot solve these issues alone, and GCS is helping to bridge this gap through collaboration, innovative programs, and strategic partnerships."
