SAVANNAH, Ga. - GeorgiaChron -- The Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) will host its 93rd Annual Convention June 26–30 at the Savannah Convention Center, bringing together more than 2,500 city leaders from across Georgia. The convention is a cornerstone event for municipal officials seeking to share ideas, sharpen leadership skills, and build stronger communities.
"This annual gathering provides an extraordinary opportunity for city officials to collaborate, learn from each other, and explore solutions to the challenges facing Georgia's cities," said Larry Hanson, CEO and Executive Director of GMA. "We are especially excited to celebrate our leaders and cities, hear an inspiring message from Colonel DeDe Halfhill and present the Key Award to Governor Kemp."

Remarks will be provided by Governor Brian Kemp, who will receive the Key Citizen Award for his service.

Monday, June 29
- 8:15 –9:45 a.m. - General Session Forum: 2026 Georgia Elections. Moderated by Phil Kent, Publisher of James Magazine; and Ben Young, Publisher of Georgia Trend, attendees will hear from invited Lieutenant Governor and Gubernatorial Candidates (confirmations pending). After hearing from candidates, mayors from various cities in Georgia will discuss topics impacting local governments.
- 12:30 -2:15 p.m. - Awards Luncheon: Recognition of Municipal Government Hall of Fame inductees, Clerk of the Year, 400 Club and Certificate of Dedication training certificates, and recipients of Georgia Cities Foundation honors.
