BUFORD, Ga. - GeorgiaChron -- Given that its summer season kicked off with the debut of an adrenaline-fueled watercoaster that spans 418 feet and features the most significant drop of its kind in the U.S., Lanier Islands is committed to keeping the thrills coming all summer long. To that end, the lakeside resort is supercharging its Fourth of July celebration to extend beyond Independence Day throughout the entire weekend. In addition to three nights of fireworks over the lake, Lanier Islands will offer a wide variety of activities – both on land and water – that run the gamut from live music on the beach and cruises around the lake to splashtacular days at Fins Up Waterpark and restful nights at the resort's flagship hotel, Legacy Lodge.
"Lanier Islands is already very well-known for our Fourth of July celebration throughout the Southeast," said Matthew Bowling, Vice President of Lanier Islands. "Independence Day at the Islands has become a cherished tradition for many families in Georgia and beyond. However, those celebrations will pale in comparison to what we and our friends at Margaritaville have in store for 2024. Since the holiday falls on a Thursday this year, we wanted to extend the fun all weekend long. We're offering a blend of patriotism and playtime. To encourage our guests to experience as much fun as possible, the resort is featuring a holiday staycation special on accommodations. If they book three nights at Legacy Lodge, Legacy Villas, or The LakeHouses at Legacy, they will save 15% off their stay. If they book five nights, they'll save 20%. We'll also have poolside music, a movie night, an incredible series of buffets at our Sidney's restaurant, and resort cart rentals exclusively for hotel guests."
