ATLANTA, Aug. 5, 2024 ~ Atlanta, GA- Grady Health System has recently announced the opening of a new 24-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit at Grady Memorial Hospital. This unit is dedicated to providing comprehensive and specialized services for patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injury, amputations, and orthopedic conditions.
According to John Haupert, president and CEO of Grady, this new unit will help meet the growing demand for specialized inpatient rehabilitative care in Atlanta and the surrounding region. He stated that it will be staffed by a multidisciplinary team consisting of physiatrists, nurses, case managers, and physical, occupational, and speech therapists. The rehabilitation unit boasts state-of-the-art facilities such as a gym equipped with ceiling-mounted body-weight support and fall protection systems, motorized parallel bars, a simulation staircase, and a home simulation nourishment area.
