May 15 through the 21 is known as Public Works Week across the country. In order to celebrate our incredible crews in Macon-Bibb, the department held a luncheon for all our Public Works workers.

"I just want to say thank you to all of my team that put in so much hard work throughout the year. Last month was a rough time during severe weather but we fought through it as a team," said Public Works Director Tim Wilder. "We couldn't do what we do without them."

More than 60 people make up the department and are responsible for a variety of jobs that keep our community going. They maintain and repair our streets, sanitary and storm sewers, public buildings, and just about anything else we may need help. Our crews have also been instrumental in our blight fight. Thank you to our amazing Public Works Department for all that you do.
