The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commission has officially begun the year-long celebration in honor and remembrance of Dr. King. On Monday, January 3, the Commission kicked off the celebration with a wreath laying ceremony. You can watch the full ceremony here.
"We need to celebrate the life and the work of Dr. King, not just one day, not just the day of his birth or the day he was assassinated, but celebrate his works and ideas all year," said MLK Commission Chair and District 3 Commissioner Elaine Lucas. "We are committed to making sure all of our citizens remember all of the things that Dr. King stood for."
