ATLANTA - GeorgiaChron -- The Dearly Southern Miss Organization and all subsidiaries take the greatest care when planning our pageants and carefully manage all of the internal programming and technological logistics.

With that said, we understand that there is some confusion centered around the scoring processes on the last day of the competition. Observers seated near the judges assumed that judges were not properly scoring contestants. For a short period of time our judges were under the wrong section for the final competitions scoring data, effecting the auditor to not receive data. Our National Director noticed this in real time and immediately rectified the issue by redirecting the judges to the proper section, and ensuring that the existing scores were double-checked manually by the auditor, and transferred to the proper electronic database. Per our organization's agreement, we will still be providing judges' comments to each contestant via email within a week of the final competition.

We want to emphasize that this minor technology issue had no bearing on the final pageant scores. Integrity is one of our foundational pillars and we sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding.

We also want to acknowledge that an executive decision was made to merge two of our categories, and want to stress that this program modification did not negatively impact the final results of the competition nor have any bearing on who was ultimately crowned.

In a heartfelt response, the National Director, an experienced pageant mom and competitor, Jacquine Hewell states,

"National Imperial Miss, a Dearly Southern Miss Organization company, prides each and every contestant that graces us with their presence. We promise to continue to inspire every young girl and woman to become their personal best version of themselves! We strive to build opportunities for every individual to actively participate with their family, friends and build other valued relationships. Our mission is creating an experience that is fun, joyful and fulfilled with magical moments you will cherish for a lifetime. We can not wait until next year and hope you are a part of this magical experience too!"

The organization maintains respect for all of its amazing contestants, their supportive families and sponsors that joined us for our June event. We will continue to put our best foot forward with this year's crowned young ladies that worked so hard, and upcoming events.
