A Grad School Program for Audio Engineers and Entrepreneurship
ATLANTA - GeorgiaChron -- Patchwerk Recording Studios, the legendary music production hub known for shaping Grammy-winning hits, is proud to announce the launch of The Patchwerk Finishing School (PFS), a new graduate-level program dedicated to advancing the skills of audio engineers. This program invites students to immerse themselves in the "Patchwerk Way" – a unique blend of hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of the music business and entrepreneurship.
PFS was founded in 2023 by studio owner, Curtis Daniel III and is operated by music marketing executive Dasha Ware. A 2004 Recording Engineer Full Sail graduate, Dasha Ware began her journey at Patchwerk in 2005 as a marketing intern and has since risen to a leadership role, guiding the next generation of audio engineers. The program will be led by Grammy-winning engineers Luke Campolieta and Luther Banks, bringing unparalleled expertise and industry insight to the curriculum.

The 30-day intensive educational program offers an unparalleled opportunity to learn in an authentic recording environment, with access to the same state-of-the-art facilities that have hosted some of the most iconic names in music. The curriculum covers advanced topics in audio engineering, music business, and entrepreneurial practices, ensuring that graduates are well-equipped to navigate the competitive landscape of the industry. The program features small, intimate classes, allowing for personalized instruction and a collaborative atmosphere, offering students direct access to the industry's best equipment and environments.
Admission to the program requires a prior certification in audio engineering, and candidates must complete an entrance interview to assess their fit for this advanced training.
Patchwerk Recording Studios, founded in 1993 by retired NFL player Bob Whitfield, now owned by Curtis Daniel III and Mike Wilson, has been a pioneering force in Atlanta's music scene. The studio played a crucial role in shaping the city's status as a music mecca, being the first to feature a state-of-the-art SSL J 9000 Console. Patchwerk's DNA has always been rooted in having the best engineers and attracting top talent to work at the studio. This innovation drew in artists such as Jay-Z, T.I., Beyoncé, Kanye West, Outkast, and many more. Notably, over 10+ Grammy-winning engineers have emerged from Patchwerk's ranks, with many engineers who interned or were groomed at the studio going on to become Grammy-nominated, further cementing Patchwerk's reputation as a breeding ground for top-tier talent.
