Charge Up Campaign Announces Honorees for its 5th Annual Pink Champagne Gala
ATLANTA - GeorgiaChron -- Charge Up Campaign, Inc. is excited to announce the return of its signature Pink Champagne Gala. In honor of National Cancer Survivors Day, the annual gala and awards ceremony will be held at the Marriott Atlanta Airport Gateway located at 2020 Convention Center Concourse and will begin at seven o'clock in the evening.
The evening of celebration will be hosted by actor Javon Johnson of Tyler Perry's "The Oval" and media personality Queen Aftan Williams of Universal Gospel Music Radio. As a testament to the increase in the need of caregivers over the last two years, this year's theme, Eye of the Tiger, looks into the heart of the caregiver. Also known as silent warriors, caregivers are those that are often overlooked when the elements of the post diagnosis are viewed.
The Pink Champagne Gala is the organization's primary fundraiser for the year as well as an opportunity to recognize its network of survivors, caregivers, Oncology medical professionals and support organizations. Honorees for this year are: Survivor of the Year Raquel Smith, Caregiver of the Year Veronica Lewis, Eagle Award Honoree Jasmine Lewis and Community Impact Honoree April Love. For their support of Charge of Campaign through various initiatives, the organization will also recognize the Kappa Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, Tanya Rapley of My Fab Finance, Fulton Dekalb Hospital Authority and Sephora. Additional honorees will be announced at a later date.
