ATLANTA - GeorgiaChron -- In the season of giving, Story Church partnered with The Whitehead Boys and Girls Club for its giveaway called The Turkey Giveback. The giveaway took place Tuesday, Nov. 22 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The Boys and Girls Club in Lakewood where over 250 bags were distributed with canned goods and turkeys to provide Thanksgiving meals for families in need.

The event stems from the hit from COVID-19, loss of jobs and not enough aid that some individuals struggle immensely to provide the basic necessities for their families. Lead Pastor of Story Church, Sam Collier, looked at the communities of Atlanta for which areas needed the most help. Story Church saw a community that got overlooked and decided that's where they would serve.

"What we do for our brothers and sisters that need generosity the most, matters the most." says Sam Collier, Lead Pastor of Story Church. "We had the opportunity to partner with the Boys and Girls Club in Lakewood to hopefully make a difference for some individuals that need a little bit of extra help."

Story Church had a successful turkey drive and joyfully served every family in attendance. Story Church believes their job is to be the helping hand when help is most needed.
