ATLANTA - GeorgiaChron -- Science, Engineering and Mathematics Link Inc. (SEM Link) will host its Swing for STEM Golf Clinic Fundraiser on Sunday, August 30th, from 4:30–6:30 pm at Chapel Hill Golf Club in Douglasville. The event invites the community to invest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education while enjoying an afternoon at the golf club.

"This clinic is about more than golf, it's about bringing our community together to invest in the next generation of STEM professionals and ensure that the pipeline for the future STEM workforce includes Metro Atlanta students. We're grateful to Mr. Deron Owens, owner of Next Level Golf Instructor, for partnering with us to host this clinic and help attendees improve their golf game," said Tokiwa T. Smith, Founder and Executive Director of SEM Link.

Participants will receive hands-on golf instruction from Mr. Deron Owens of Next Level Golf Instructor. All skill levels are welcome, and no golf experience is necessary. Attendees may bring their own clubs or use clubs provided. Golf attire and closed-toe shoes are recommended, and space is limited.

Proceeds from the event will support SEM Link's two core programs, Community STEM and STEM Literacy and Research, which engage Metro Atlanta youth in hands-on activities, expose them to STEM careers, and connect them with positive adult role models in STEM.

The clinic is part of SEM Link's Give 8/28 Day Fundraiser. Give 8/28 Day is a national day of giving focused on uplifting Black-led and Black-benefiting organizations, hosted by The Young, Black and Giving Back Institute and held annually on August 28th. Those unable to attend the golf clinic are encouraged to make a donation to the fundraiser.
