The Book Slam Live introduces a new initiative crafted by Dr. Tami Prince-Clarke of ClarkeTVNetwork and Dr. April K to expose students to authors and the publishing world
ATLANTA - GeorgiaChron -- On Monday, June 17, 2024, at 7 PM, The Book Slam Live will host a special event at Venue 78, celebrating students who write and love reading. This exciting evening will feature live readings from acclaimed authors and performers, offering students a unique opportunity to connect with literary and entertainment professionals.
This event marks the premiere of The Book Slam Live in Atlanta, bringing the beloved virtual literary event to a physical stage for the first time. Traditionally focused on book lovers, publishers, poets, writers, and authors, The Book Slam Live is now extending its reach to students, thanks to the insightful ideas from Dr. April K, founder of Art-Izm and star of the one-woman play "Beneath The Crown: A Survivor's Story", and Dr. Tami Prince-Clarke, a proud alumni of Spelman College and the host of "Health Tips With The Nation's Bedside Doctor" on ClarkeTVNetwork.

Dr. Prince-Clark proposed the idea of emphasizing student engagement to show creator Indy Brennan, who immediately fell in love with it. Dr. April K and Dr. Prince-Clarke demonstrated how students would find immense value and enjoyment in such an event once introduced to it, paving the way for this exciting new initiative.
In collaboration with Dr. Tami Prince-Clarke and her team at "Health Tips With The Nation's Bedside Doctor," The Book Slam Live is spreading the word about this event across the Atlanta University Center. This initiative aims to inspire and engage students from Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Spelman College, Morris Brown College, and surrounding institutions.
To show appreciation for the student movement towards book reading and live performance art, The Book Slam Live has launched a student initiative. Students can attend Monday's show for only $10 per ticket, making this premier event accessible to young literary enthusiasts.
