SAVANNAH, Ga. - GeorgiaChron -- The Georgia Historical Society's Georgia History Festival continues in February with a weekend of educational events for students and families in recognition of the founding of Georgia on February 12, 1733. The festivities begin with the Colonial Faire and Muster on Saturday, February 8, and Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Wormsloe State Historic Site in Savannah.
The Colonial Faire and Muster offers visitors of all ages a taste of the excitement and adversity of life for the colony's early settlers. Highlights include cannon and musket firing; blacksmithing, craft, and cooking demonstrations; Native-American life interpretations; storytelling; and period music and dance. This popular living-history program is free on Sunday, thanks to sponsorship from Gulfstream, with additional support from the Society of Colonial Wars in the State of Georgia.
